St. Francis of Vista Teacher Honored as
NBC 7 San Diego Inspirational Teacher of the Month

Jennifer Segura, a middle school language arts teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Vista, Calif., is the first middle school teacher in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego to be named Inspirational Teacher of the Month by NBC San Diego news station.
Samantha Womack of the San Diego Office of Education presented Segura with the award in her classroom. “Ms. Segura is inspirational, kind, she’s a mentor and a leader,” Womack said. “And I’m excited to honor her as the February 2019 Inspirational Teacher of the Month.”
About a dozen teachers are nominated every month, according to Music Watson, APR, Chief Communications Officer, San Diego County Office of Education. Nominations for the honor are received from students, parents, school staff, and community members, then the SDCOE staff choses the recipient.
